A viewer watching Twitch pieced all the clues together and won big in a nationwide competition – but did he steal the answers?
Streamers do strange things some times, from trying to win a date with a Hollywood actor to selling beer made from vaginal yeast. But they also do good, including raising money for charity and helping viewers win nationwide treasure hunts.
This story is an example of the latter, as a popular TV show in Germany released several puzzles for anyone to solve, which would eventually lead to a briefcase with €1 million (£870,000) in it.
However, the viewer that ones seems to have relied on German variety streamer Papaplatte, who has over 2 million followers on Twitch, to help solve all the puzzles.
Each puzzle contained coordinates that lead to a briefcase, in what looks like the back of a van filled with cameras.
A clip on Reddit caught the scene, as once the briefcase clicks open and the viewer realises that he’s won. After the initial disbelief, the first thing he says is, ‘Thanks Papaplatte’.
Over on Twitch Papaplatte reacted to the event by celebrating more than the viewer himself. We recommend watching the video at the bottom of the article.
It’s not clear whether the viewer did all the puzzles himself or not, butconsidering that he immediately thanked the streamer it seems like he might’ve cheekily borrowed some of them.
Nobody seems to hold it against him if he did though, or at least Papaplatte doesn’t, as it’s suddenly got him a whole lot more new viewers.
