The Bad Education star, 29, has kept fans up to date with his Strictly antics and hit back at nasty trolls on social media.
But he’s now set the record straight over a false claim about his childhood – and we’re not entirely sure where it all came from.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, with a screenshot of his Wikipedia page, Layton addressed the claim that he was born to ‘a billionaire father’.
He wrote, clarifying he meant to add ‘not’ in: ‘FYI, I was raised on a council estate in Bury. Unfortunately my Dad is/was/(will probs never be) a billionaire.’
‘This feels like Tracey Beaker lies,’ one fan joked.
Another laughed: ‘Don’t you love finding out ‘facts’ about yourself online.’
This comes after Layton confessed spilled some NSFW tea while talking to Kathy Burke, where he may have revealed a little too much.
Not only did his nan wash and fold his sexy underwear but Layton’s mum went rummaging through his drawers and was shocked at what she found – his douche.
Understandably, Layton was mortified.
Explaining what he’s terrified on for people to find after his death on Kathy’s Where There’s A Will There’s A Wake podcast, he said: ‘Surely nobody wants their sexy things found by their family.
‘I had a really embarrassing moment when my nan came to stay with me a few weeks back, and we were rushing to get ready so she was helping me hang out the washing, and I forgot that I had my sexy underwear in there.
‘I went outside and on the pegs were all these inappropriate sexy wear.’
As if that wasn’t bad enough, his nan tried to recover the situation.
‘I was mortified,’ Layton continued. ‘She went, “Don’t worry darling, we all have them!”
‘That was even worse! I don’t want to think about the fact that you’ve got them now as well.’
He added: ‘I would want my mates to sneak in first and hide my sexy bits and bobs.
‘You don’t want your mum finding your douche… actually she found it the other day!’
As Layton tried to explain to Kathy, 59, what exactly a douche was, until she figured it out, he laughed: ‘I don’t want my mum finding stuff like that!’
‘I need to start putting locks on my drawers!’
Elsewhere on the podcast, Layton spoke about his ‘attachment’ to Strictly partner Nikita Kuzmin, saying: ‘He’s the most amazing person and so unfazed by all of the things that come with it.
‘He’s so happy to have me on his arm, no matter what I’m dressed as, he’s the ally that we need.’
Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturday at 6.40pm on BBC One.
