David Schwimmer has shared a tribute for Matthew Perry that’s full of love, revealing his favourite memory that he shared with his late Friends co-star.

On October 28, Perry, who played the wise-cracking and and lovable Chandler Bing on the globally beloved sitcom, died aged 54.

The fellow leads on the series – Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow – honoured him in a joint statement expressing their heartbreak, with several of the cast now posting personal messages on social media.

In a message shared on Instagram, Schwimmer, 57, recollected the episode where he and Perry filmed a flashback sequence for their respective characters Ross Geller and Chandler, when they were college students in the 80s.

Posting a picture of them in their retro powersuits, the actor wrote in his caption: ‘Matty, Thank you for ten incredible years of laughter and creativity.

‘I will never forget your impeccable comic timing and delivery. You could take a straight line of dialogue and bend it to your will, resulting in something so entirely original and unexpectedly funny it still astonishes.

Schwimmer said that he could imagine Perry ‘up there, somewhere, in the same white suit’ (Picture:Getty)

‘And you had heart. Which you were generous with, and shared with us, so we could create a family out of six strangers.

‘This photo is from one of my favorite moments with you. Now it makes me smile and grieve at the same time.

‘I imagine you up there, somewhere, in the same white suit, hands in your pockets, looking around—

‘“Could there BE any more clouds?”’
